2012 Leadership Training

The Leadership Training was a great success!  Twenty-five students were able to attend and get some great information and resources  to help them with their huddle groups at their schools across     Cincinnati.  The time included:

·  Team building activity where the students learned about    teamwork

· Time of huddle format training by Dan Bishop

· Overview of the many resources that FCA offers

· Lunch time to get to know each other

· Information including videos of some of the FCA core ministries

· Dan Bishop spoke about teamwork and the importance of working with each other and with God

Overall the students seemed to take away some helpful information to guide them when planning their huddles.  They also shared with each other different ideas that they have used in inviting people to attend, etc.

We plan to have another leadership training in August 2012.

Huddles are making an impact on students across the Greater Cincinnati Area!

We have heard such a great response from the huddles in the Greater Cincinnati area.  Any feedback that we receive we want to share with you.

My name is Andy Olds. I am the Huddle leader for Kings HS.

This is our 3rd year for the Huddle and we meet 2x per month. In our first meeting of 09’, we had 98 students attend! We had an FCA t-shirt give away for the first 50 to show. When I arrived at 6:30 in the a.m., we had over 70 waiting for me. So I went ahead and got t-shirts for everyone!”

Indian Hill High School-

On October 21st, 45 students involved in an FCA huddle gathered to listen to 3 Xavier University student athletes share their faith and experience.  Mark Hammitt, with Athletes in Action, brought Neil Lindgren (senior baseball), Richardo Sutherland (senior soccer), and Desmond Dodd (freshman track and field).  They talked about the importance of Godly accountability in college because of all the temptations and freedom.  With the pressure of college life and playing sports at that level, they warned about trying to go at it alone.  Using the Bible they challenged the group to understand what it means to be a Godly leader.  What an impact these students can make!

Lakota West High School-

Hello!  It's been a great fall.  I'm averaging 20 guys at the team huddle each week.  About 40 guys on the team have come at least once.  Two weeks ago, 6 players trusted Christ - PTL!  Almost every week, someone stays after to get counsel on a particular issue.  It's been really neat to see God breaking down walls. There is a lot of momentum in continuing on after football.  Also, the wrestling coach wants me to come and speak to the team each week once the season starts.  Plenty of opportunities.”

FIELDS OF FAITH 2008 - WE SERVE AN AWESOME GOD!

Fields of Faith is a student-to-student event. Peers invite their own classmates and teammates to meet on their school’s athletic field to hear fellow students share their faith testimonies, challenge them to read the Bible and to come to faith in Jesus Christ.  With an estimated 100,000+ people attending Fields of Faith on October 8 nationwide this year, 2008 was tremendous!  Locally, the Colerain High School FCA hosted the first Fields of Faith in our area.  The Huddle did a fantastic job of promoting and staging this event.  Thank you to CHS FCA for sharing this opportunity with our community.  This is what FCA Sponsor, Carrie Barnett, had to say about Fields of Faith"This was our first Fields of Faith. The evening was amazing. We estimated that we had about 100 people in attendance (we passed out 95 pocket bible guides). Keith from Friendship Baptist set up and ran the sound for the entire evening. We had 4 students perform praise and worship songs and the audience was up on their feet singing along. Three of our CHS students prepared faith testimonies to share with everyone and we had 3 more students come out of the audience to give their testimonies as well. The FCA leaders: Caleb, Julia, Allison, and Nick shared how scripture and living in God's word has made their lives more meaningful. Dustin gave a great talk about Moses and challenged the kids to step up for their faith. The evening ended with Nathan(one of the ministers from White Oak Christian Church) giving an invitation to students to come forward in their faith and he gave a prayer to wrap up the event. We had numerous students fill out the commitment cards that were distributed and we had one student accept Jesus before he left and another who has questions and wants more information. It was truly an inspiring evening and very humbling to hear the kids talk. I can't wait until next year!"
Thank you to CHS for their incredible witness to our community through this year's Fields of Faith.  To read more about Fields of Faith, go to www.fieldsoffaith.com.
